Hmmm well while I can see your point, I think a lot of what you describe is American cultural traits rather than men in particular.
You could say this describes American men quite well, but I would not say it describes men in general. This perspective is certainly not a way men think of themselves in Northern Europe.
And I think if you went to Japan or South Korea you would also find that men are not really looking to be rich as such but to have a good job etc. The extreme focus on success and wealth is quite particular to the US I think.
