Africa is poor and Europe is rich. Does that say something about inherent genetic differences between people or is the environment to blame?

If you care about racism, then this podcast episode should be interesting to you. I tackle some of the claims made by racists, but also reject some popular leftist explanations for why Africa is underdeveloped.

When people talk about Africa they tend to employ very shallow analysis. The so-called “race realists” (known as racists in earlier decades) have a simple explanation: “Africa is underdeveloped because Africans are stupid.”

Meanwhile the classic social justice warrior will claim that Africa is underdeveloped because of evil European colonialism. Now, colonialism was morally speaking horrendous, but likely not that important in the grand scheme of things. After all colonization was possible because Europeans nations were far ahead technologically.

My claim in this podcast is that we don’t have to use either of these kind of explanations. Rather we can look at geography and climate. In other words we don’t need to blame a particular people.
